POSITION SUMMARY:
We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Technical Artist with at least 5 years of experience. This is an excellent opportunity with a growing game company.
We develop state of the art multi-user game software that runs on Flash, consoles, PC’s, and devices. We offer a work environment full of talented, bright, and self-directed people. We are seeking an experienced person to work between the art and programming staff to ensure that CG assets are easily integrated into the game engine without sacrificing artistic integrity.
Technical Artists will be expected to understand how game play and architecture issues can affect content creation and successfully develop workflows to compensate for such limitations on artistic content.
Essential Job Functions:
• Develops new techniques and processes to solve visual effect production challenges
• Innovates and solves art technical issues for tool development used in game production
• Works effectively with both programming and art
• Researches with an eye towards visual and technical innovation in dealing with process and pipeline creation
• Pushes and/or defines hardware and art limitations for the project
• Works closely with the tech team to design, debug and evaluate new tools
• Reviews and recommends software for production
• Meets deadlines with proficiency
• Uses commercially available digital software competently
Experience/Skills:
• Over 5 years of industry experience
• Strong knowledge of MAX and/or other 3D software package
• Thorough understanding of the asset integration process
• Understanding of scripting, shaders, and other technical issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively
